Thanks to the steady Aegean winds, its sheltered coasts, and its rich maritime past, Lemnos is one of the most comprehensive destinations for outdoor activities. Windsurf & Kitesurf<\/p>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The island’s main spot is Keros beach, in eastern Lemnos \u2014 a vast sandy beach (3-4 km) with shallow, turquoise waters and a steady northeastern meltemi wind throughout the summer. A windsurf\/kitesurf school has been operating there since 2008, offering lessons for all levels and equipment rental.<\/p>

Other locations with good conditions:<\/b><\/p>

  • Saravari<\/strong> \u2013 a sandy beach with shallow waters on the northern side of the island, between the archaeological sites of Hephaestia and Kaveirio; also ideal for surfing<\/li>
  • Gomati<\/strong> \u2013 preferred by more experienced individuals, especially in September and October, when the wind is more consistent<\/li>
  • Kotsinas<\/strong> \u2013 a classic choice on the eastern side of the island<\/li>
  • Kokkinovrachos<\/strong> (near Poliochni) \u2013 also suitable for surfing<\/li><\/ul>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

    Diving<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

    The seabed around Lemnos boasts rich marine life and a significant maritime past, as the island was a pivotal point during World War I and II. Known shipwrecks have been identified in the area, such as the cargo ship Balkan and the passenger ship Princess Alberta \u2014 however, these are located at great depths (58\u2013120 m) and are suitable for experienced\/technical divers, not beginners.<\/p>

    For simpler, shallow exploration dives (rocks, caves, marine life), a diving center operates on the island, offering lessons, organized dives, and equipment rental.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

    Lemnos’s terrain, with its gentle hills and numerous dirt roads between villages, is ideal for cycling exploration, especially outside the warmest summer months. Bicycle rental is mainly available in Myrina.
